How it works
We provide all of the equipment necessary to undertake therapy sessions. This allows you to perform daily sessions within the comfort of your own home.
During your NeET session you will sit in front of a computer, provided by us, with your chin on a head rest. You will then perform the interactive rehabilitation programme. Importantly, no previous computer experience is necessary to undertake the therapy.
The program presents visual stimuli in the border area between the damaged and undamaged parts of your vision. Each session takes approximately 25 minutes to complete and we recommend that you undertake one or two sessions a day, for a minimum of 5 days per week.
How long does the therapy last for
The rehabilitation programme is set up for a period of 6 months. Further therapy beyond this period is possible and is subject to a reduced additional charge.
Improvements reported
After three months of using Neuro-Eye Therapy patients have reported improvements in visual sensitivity within areas of their blind field. Over longer periods further improvements were obtained.
The type of improvements reported
- Ability to locate moving, flickering objects within the blind field, such as moving traffic
- Increased navigation skills
- Improved reading ability
- Increased concentration span and visual attention
- Increased visual sensitivity
- Significant increase in quality of life
Neuro-Eye Therapy (NeET) will not take away all of the vision loss, however, it does provide a mechanism through which an improvment function could occur.
